Club story and culture
Utrechtse Studenten Rugby Society, better known as USRS, has flown the student rugby flag in Utrecht since 1967. Born from the city’s corps and campus energy, the society mixes graft with good humour, a team room that never stays quiet for long, and a calendar that keeps new faces rolling in every term.
USRS is a student club aimed at male university and HBO students, with room for big and small, fast and slow, absolute beginners and seasoned ball carriers. The first XV competes in the First Class of the Dutch league structure, and the pathway below it gives newcomers a proper landing spot to learn the craft the right way. Training is twice a week at Olympos, with crisp sessions and a third half that lives up to the badge.

Together with USRS, Rugby Culture has shaped a rugby polo that carries Utrecht’s student identity, the club colours and crest, and that unmistakable blend of hard work and good craic. It feels right at training, on match days and in town after the whistle.
