Sixty years ago, Dutch student rugby got a home of its own. To mark the 12th Lustrum of the Nederlandse Studenten Rugby Bond (NSRB), Rugby Culture and the NSRB have created a limited pink collection for student ruggers past and present: a classic rugby polo, lustrum shorts and a club tie.
Who Are the NSRB?
The NSRB is the Dutch student rugby union. It was founded in Delft in 1966, the natural result of an explosion of new student rugby clubs across the Netherlands in the 1960s. The roots go back even further: in 1918, Delft students founded the Delftsche Studenten Rugby Club, the very first rugby club in the country.
Today the NSRB brings together student clubs from Delft to Groningen and from Leiden to Nijmegen, including our partners A.S.R.V. Ascrum, RSRC and NSRV Obelix. The union also runs the Netherlands Student XV for both men and women: a selection of the best student rugby players in the country.
Sixty Years of Student Rugby
A lustrum marks every five years of a Dutch student association, and the 12th is a big one. Six decades of student competitions, tournaments and third halves that ran long into the night. The NSRB has been a staple of Dutch rugby for all of them, and we are proud to celebrate it together.
The NSRB X Rugby Culture Collection
The lustrum collection is pink from top to toe, and every piece carries the occasion.
- NSRB x Rugby Culture Polo: pink and navy stripes, a white collar and a commemorative patch on the back. A limited collaboration piece.
- NSRB x Rugby Culture Shorts: pink, with embroidered crests and zip pockets that keep your phone and keys safe through lustrum week.
- NSRB x Rugby Culture Tie: pink with navy diagonal stripes, made for the lustrum gala, club dinners and every formal occasion on the rugby calendar.
