M.S.R.G. De Maraboes are Maastricht’s student rugby originals, a tight mix of internationals and locals who have flown the university flag since 1989. The Maraboes share their wider club family with Maastricht Rugby as the Maastricht Maraboes Rugby Combinatie, which brings youth, women, men and students together under one badge. Expect a warm welcome, sharp sessions and a third half that lives up to the stories.
Training is simple and consistent, Tuesday and Thursday evenings, with freshers and first timers encouraged to jump in. The rhythm is classic student rugby, learn your craft, bring a mate, earn your pint.
The colours and crest speak to the city and its blend of cultures, and in recent seasons Maastricht Rugby and the Maraboes have even dropped a Classic Maastricht Rugby jersey in collaboration with Rugby Culture, a nod to tradition with match day attitude.
